Christianity is a relationship with the one true God. The true God is One God but is also three Persons. There is total oneness in the Trinity. The Trinity is God, the Father and God, the Son, whose name is Jesus Christ and God, the Spirit. It is a mystery but God is the Creator and we are His creation. We only know what He gives knowledge of and He says that knowledge of God is understanding. The more we know God then the more we will understand.
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10b
God, the Father, so loved the world that He sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ into the world to live and to die for the sins on the world. Whoever believes in Jesus Christ shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
Jesus Christ came into the world to take away our sin. He is the Lamb of God who was sacrificed for the world.
The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29
Love is a choice. No one has to receive Jesus Christ and believe in Him. His payment for our sin is a gift. He paid a debt for us we could not pay and He paid a debt He did not owe because He loved us. We can accept the payment. If, we do not accept the payment that Jesus Christ paid for us, then our debt of sin remains with us and we will forever be in hell, cut off from the love of God. Jesus Christ died for all the world, but all the world will not be saved from hell, only those who receive Him.
and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world. I John 2:2
Propitiation means that the death of Jesus Christ on the cross paid the penalty for our sins and satisfied the justice of God. The death of Christ made possible the gift of forgiveness and reconciliation to God. This gift is freely offered to all and those who receive the gift of His payment for our sins receive the gift of forgiveness and a relationship with God. Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with the one living and true God. This relationship can only come through Jesus Christ.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12, 13
A person is born into God’s family through faith, that is, through believing in Jesus Christ and what He did for them on the cross. The one who believes in Jesus is born again. He receives the Holy Spirit, who comes to live within the believer. He becomes not only a physical person with a soul but a spiritual person with a body and a soul. He now has the ability to understand God because the Holy Spirit gives him the understanding.
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ John 3:5-7
Not only did Jesus Christ die on the cross but He was buried and raised after three days. God, the Father, raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Jesus Christ lives and those who trust in Him will also live forever.
But God raised Him from the dead; Acts 13:30
Just as the Father raised up Jesus from the dead so also Jesus Christ will raise up from the dead those who have put their trust in Him.
For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:40
Christianity is a love relationship with God that begins the moment one believes in and receives Jesus Christ to be their Savior and confesses Him to be their Lord.
that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9, 10
Christianity is having God as your Father and being His child.
See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. I John 3:1a
Christianity is having a Lord and Savior who will never leave you or forsake you.
for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” Hebrews 13:5b
Christianity is being transferred out of a kingdom of darkness with guilt, judgment and condemnation into a kingdom of light with redemption, freedom from sin and forgiveness.
For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13,14
Christianity is life and not just life, but an abundant life that never ends. Christianity is eternal life in the presence and love of God.
I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. John 10:10b
