Often when people achieve their goals they will say, “There has to be something more than this.” Even though they have gotten what they have worked long and hard for, when they receive the long awaited dream it is not what they thought it would be and they are disappointed.
Romans 5:5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
When our hope is in Him then we will not be disappointed. In fact, He says that He will do far more than what we ever dreamed possible. Expectations in the world will in time bring disappointment but the Lord says that if our expectations are in Him and He is our hope then He will exceed our expectations. Incredible!!
Isaiah 64:3,4 When You did awesome things which we did not expect,
You came down, the mountains quaked at Your presence.
For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear,
Nor has the eye seen a God besides You,
Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him.
Let the Lord be your hope and your expectation and you will not be disappointed. The Lord will act on your behalf. You, for your part, learn to wait on Him. Don’t be quick to take things into your own hands. Cease striving and know that He is God. He will be exalted in your life if you will trust Him.
Psalm 46:10 Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
